We were told to make two pinch pots out of balls of clay, then mend them together into an orb. This orb was meant o memorialize someone or something we loved/cared about. I chose to memorialize my grand father that passed away from lung cancer. The white lungs with cracks and flowers represent the journey he went through during his chemo therapy. The flowers are supposed to be the extra time he got in life because the doctors thought he'd die the first time they diagnosed him, within months, but he ended up surviving for two extra years until the cancer came back and attacked his brain. My grandpa loved to hunt and fish and I even went fishing with him a few times as a kid so I thought it would be appropriate to do a deer and two people in a boat. Once as kid I went to visit my grandfather in Idaho and we were talking about edible flowers, I did not believe him, and he said that there are actually people that eat flowers and think they taste good so I said "NO thats a lie, I bet you wouldnt eat a flower!" so he decided he would to prove me wrong... After dinner that night, I went outside to pick some flowers for him and brought back a yellow one and a purple one and he actually ate them with his ice cream.
